The Bass Cake's Guide to Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival

On March 2-5, the Bass Cake will be taking its' first trip to Okeechobee, FL for the annual Okeechobee Music & Festival. To prepare, I have interviewed several members of the Bass Cake family. These are my favorite tips and memories I've learned about Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival.

What is Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival?

Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival is an annual four-day camping festival held in Okeechobee, Florida. This year's lineup includes big names from a variety of genres such as: Earth, Wind & Fire, Excision, Griz, and Lil Yachty. OMF's motto is "Be Here Now" which is all about being in the moment with those that are around you. I've with asked several Bass Cake family members about their favorite "Be Here Now" moments:

What was your favorite "Be Here Now" moment at OMF?

Julian: "My favorite "Be Here Now" moment was when I saw all the art installations. They are all so unique and spread all across Sunshine Grove. It's hard to describe, but, my favorite was the TV's in the forest."

Matt: "My favorite moment was when Aiden and I starting jamming with our neighbor at 4 AM. There was a bongo, guitars. and all types of instruments. We could have been seeing world-class acts, but decided to just to be in-the-moment. It made me realize that it doesn't matter what you're doing, as long it is with cool people"

Alex: "My favorite moment was simply waking up and cooking breakfast for everyone in the mornings. You slowly see people get started with there days. Everyone is so filled with joy about the wonderful adventures that will happen later in the day. It's an exciting time. "

Aiden: "I really connected with the "Be Here Now" motto when we got back to camp Sunday night. I really just to reminisce and soak in all the moments throughout the weekend."

What would you say to someone who in interested in going to OMF for the first time?

Michael: "When you're at Okeechobee, you feel like your transported to another world. The theming is unlike another festival. You feel this energy throughout the venue that is contagious. This year will be my fifth time at Okeechobee and I'm so excited to go back"

Matt: "I would defiantly recommend Okeechobee if you'd like to have an immersive experience. It goes way beyond the music. The bonds and memories you share with those around you will last a lifetime."

Aiden: "I would highly suggest preparing as soon as possible. You will be camping for four days, so you need to have everything you could possibly need. When you inevitably forget something, do not be afraid to ask your neighbors. It is all about the community and helping each other out."

Closing Thoughts

As we have heard from previous Okeechobee festival attendees, it is truly a magical experience. If you have ever wanted to go to OMF, now is your chance. Tickets are available for all four days as well as single day passes. If you're still questioning the decision, remember the motto "Be Here Now".
